I don’t know about you but as a child raised during the socialist times in Bulgaria, I was totally hooked when the Micky Mouse’s comics get popular in my country. This was one of my favorite things to buy when I was a little girl and I’ve couldn’t wait to read more about the adventures of Donald Duck, Uncle Scruz, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. I’ve had a huge collection of comics and since then I really appreciate the art of drawing the stories and tell everything just in a few words.
No matter I am already in my 30s, I’m still searching for the colorful thin books and collecting them while traveling. The love of the comics is maintaining the movies of the superheroes which getting popular nowadays. I am happy that I am not alone in this. Dido’s obsession to collect t-shirts with Marvel or DC characters comes best with mine to collect comics from the countries we’ve visited. Just imagine the picture, me looking for an interesting story to read, him looking for the best t-shirt that could make him a superhero. Or, no, do not imagine this.
Collecting comics is a popular hobby around the world. It is not just a hobby, it’s a culture and way of living. I do not think about myself as a real collector of comics but I really prefer to buy a colorful little book instead of some magnets and to take this as a souvenir. While we started to visit different comic book stores we understood how different they are and we saw the secret gems they offer to us. The stores have its own spirit and they are like a magical world which could help us forget the ordinary world we live in.
In time, the list of places is getting longer and longer so I’ve decided to share this interesting theme with all of you so you can think about some alternative places next time you travel.
Today, we will share with you three of our favorite comic book stores around Europe.
The first one is in Valencia, Spain. This store has the most interesting owner I’ve ever met and he was so kind to give me an extra magazine totally for free after buying some books from him. Futurama Comics is a magical Spanish place you should definitely put on your bucket list. You will find something for you for sure.

The best part of visiting the comic book stores is that they are not so expensive as you are thinking and you can find also some old editions for a good price. And as a reward for getting something that you really like you can sit and drink some coffee over the comic like we often do. Enjoy!
